Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Welcome to Yellow Pineapples. These terms explain the fair, simple rules for using this website, downloading our free journal, and buying our books. By using the site you're agreeing to them. They're written in England and any dispute is handled under the law of England and Wales.
1. Who we are
Yellow Pineapples is a children's imprint created by Melanie Ross, home of The Most Anxious Dog in the World and Kai's One Small Step Journal. You can reach us at hello@yellowpineapples.com.
2. Using this website
You're welcome to browse, read and share our pages. Please use the site kindly and lawfully — don't try to disrupt it, misuse it, or copy it wholesale. We may update or improve the site at any time, and occasionally it may be unavailable while we do.
3. Our stories, art and characters
Kip, Kai and all the friends, the artwork, the words and the designs on this site belong to Yellow Pineapples and Melanie Ross, and are protected by copyright and trade-mark law. You're very welcome to enjoy and share links to them. Please don't reproduce, resell or adapt our content without our written permission.
4. The free journal
Kai's One Small Step Journal is a free gift, for personal and family use, and for teachers and carers to use with the children in their care. Please feel free to print it and share it for those purposes. Please don't sell it or pass it off as your own.
5. Buying our books
When our books are available to buy, some purchases will be made through other shops (such as Amazon), whose own terms will apply to that sale. Where you buy directly from us, we'll show the price and any delivery cost clearly before you order, and your statutory rights as a consumer — including the usual right to cancel and return — always apply.
6. Links to other websites
We sometimes link to other websites we think are helpful — for example, support services for children and families. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
7. Our responsibility to you
We take real care to make everything on this site accurate, kind and well made. As far as the law allows, we can't accept liability for indirect losses, and nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for things that can't be excluded by law (such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). None of this affects your legal rights as a consumer.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, with the date it was last updated.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will handle any dispute.
